Are non-candy Halloween treats as fun for toddlers as sweet treats? I think so, yes!
Sure, the best part of Halloween is obviously the candy.
It’s all good when you have elementary school aged kids who are (for the most part) able to manage their sugar urges.
They understand reasoning when you tell them that you’re putting it away, and eventually (at least in my house) the candy gets forgotten about after a few days.
It’s totally different with a toddler. They get a taste of that sugar and they turn into little maniacs.
I’m all for giving kids treats, but if I could do it all over again, I would have never introduced my children to sugar at all.
It’s so addictive, and even though it tastes delicious, nothing good ever comes from it.
Well, except for cakes, pies, cookies, candies, soda—but I digress.
All isn’t lost if your little one has indulged in a sweet or two.
However, don’t feel like you have to succumb to the pressure of giving your toddler tons of candy during Halloween. There are plenty of ways for them to indulge in the festivities without it.
