Stepping out on faith isn’t a concept that’s foreign to me.
When I moved to California back in 2012 with 4 suitcases, 2 carry-ons, and a toddler, I had no idea what the outcome would be.
All I knew was that God had always taken care of me. I had no reason to doubt that this situation would be any different.
What was my plan? Didn’t have one.
I just prayed, asked for guidance, and followed God’s will for my life.
If you’re in a place where you’re ready to step out on faith, but you’re not sure where to start, you’re not alone.
I always feel nervous about not being in control.
Not having a blueprint or map for my life gives me anxiety sometimes. A lot.
I have good news, though. God hasn’t failed me, yet.
Even through the overwhelm, the fear, the stress—I’m making it, and I know that if it had not been for the Lord on my side—whoo chile, my life would have been a hot mess.
How I Strengthen My Faith
Let me be very clear about one thing, my faith isn’t unshakeable.
I’m not proud of that, but it’s true.
Every morning (and sometimes afternoon and evening, too), I have to remind myself that God is in control.
When I make plans and things don’t turn out the way I expected, I still get heartbroken, even if I do believe in God’s will.
What can I say? I’m human.
But, reading and studying devotionals, praying, worshiping through music, attending church, and talking to friends helps to fortify my faith.
Even when I’m doubtful or fearful, there are constant reminders around me to let me know that I’m truly not alone.
