Make a shirt in minutes with Cricut EasyPress 2!

One of the things that I worried about the most when I discovered I was going to have a little boy was clothes. Looking back it seems like a shallow concern, but come on! It’s real! When my daughter was a toddler, there was no shortage of adorable, affordable clothes for her.

While it’s a lot easier to find cute boy clothes than I thought, I do still long for more options. Now that I have a Cricut, though, I have TONS of options! All I need is a blank shirt and I can make whatever I want! That’s exactly what I did this evening, too. I pulled out my Cricut Air 2 and EasyPress 2 and got to work.

What is the Cricut EasyPress 2?

The Cricut EasyPress 2 is a heat press that makes it easy to put vinyl or iron-on designs onto fabric. Sure, you could pull out your iron and ironing board, but that’s the old school way of doing things. That takes up so much space, can create a burn hazard, and on most irons, you can’t accurately adjust the actual temperature.

With the Cricut EasyPress 2, you don’t have to worry about burning your creations, or even ruining them because all of the material didn’t transfer. You know exactly what temperature to use based on the material you’re handling. Oh, and the temperature rises quickly, too!

You won’t have to worry about knowing whether your Cricut EasyPress 2 is ready for you to use or not because it alerts you to everything. Once it hits your preferred temperature, an alert goes off. There’s also a countdown timer for the amount of time you should keep the heat press on your craft. It’s pretty foolproof.

You don’t have to be creative to be creative

Now, although I know I want more cute clothes for my little guy, I’m not necessarily amazing when it comes to design. Fortunately, Cricut’s Design Space has so many projects to choose from that I don’t need to know how to draw or make graphic designs.

Jamie has been trying his darnedest to throw up the peace sign. I saw a peace sign image on Design Space and figured I’d make a shirt since I had a few minutes.

That’s the thing about using Cricut and the EasyPress 2. If you have it set up in a craft room already, all you have to do is plug it in and it’s ready to go. I was able to choose, cut, and iron-on this shirt in minutes.

How can I make a special t-shirt easily?

I feel very confident in telling you that you can make a t-shirt, even a more complicated one, using a Cricut and the Cricut EasyPress 2 in about 30 minutes. It’s perfect for last minute gifts.

One thing that I’ve learned since becoming a Cricut crafter is that folks who are really good with design will often give away their files. If you can’t find something you like on Cricut’s Design Space, just Google “free Cricut files.”

Not having to wait for a heat press to warm up, or needing to clear away space for an ironing board makes creating a shirt so fast!
