Best Student Planner for High School

It’s the summer before my daughter’s first year in high school, and I can already tell how busy the upcoming school year will be. From academics to extracurriculars, and social events, we’ve already talked about how important it’ll be to stay organized and have been researching the best student planner for high school.

I remember high school being overwhelming and struggling to keep track of all the projects and deadlines. I don’t remember who taught me the importance of writing everything down, but I learned pretty early on that it was the only way to stay on track.

Finding the best student planner for high school

When you look for a student planner for high school, remember that it only works if it works for you. If your student needs to see everything they need to do in a week at once, a planner with a full-page day calendar may not work for them.

Choosing a planner is a very personal process. It starts with thinking about what you need in a planner. What is your high schooler going to use it for? Will they track all of their activities there, or are they also tracking them digitally? If they are tracking it digitally, how are they syncing with the paper student planner?

Before you pick a planner, here are a few questions to ask:

  • Does the planner I’m selecting have a clear and user-friendly layout?
  • Is the planner I like durable?
  • Do I have (and need) a space for note-taking?
  • Would I prefer an hourly, daily, weekly, or monthly calendar?
  • Is it important for my student planner to have time management tools (to-do lists, time-blocking, etc.)?
  • Do I need goal-setting and mindset tools?

With the right student planner in hand, your high schooler will feel ready to conquer the year. I’ve curated a variety of planners for you to check out. These are all top-rated, and my criteria for including them is that they had to have enough space to jot down daily, weekly, and monthly schedules.

Many of them have divided sections for different subjects or activities, and some have a colorful interior while others are more simple. I’m sure you’ll find one to fit your needs on this list.
