Ayva has always had her own sense of style. From the silver cowboy boots she wore through most of her toddler years, to the romantic dresses she’s currently into, homegirl definitely knows what she likes! It just so happens that my little fashionista attends Catholic school where there is a strict uniform policy, so she doesn’t get a chance to exercise her sense of style on a regular basis. There are a few days at the beginning of the school year, plus once every month and on special occasions where students are allowed “free dress” and Ayva definitely takes advantage of that.
Since the first day of school is a free dress day, we still get to have the fun of shopping for back to school. TJ Maxx and Marshalls sent us a gift card to check out some of the fashion trends for girls for back to school, and I was honestly brought back to my days of youth with some of the styles. The nineties are back, and I’m not mad at it! Ayva quickly gravitated towards a sweet little dress, and we dressed it up with a crochet vest. I would have absolutely worn the same exact outfit in 1994. It’s like fashion designers took the best thing about fashion back in the day and created new, modern styles. I love it!
You know what I love even more, though? The prices. The dress was $12.99, and the vest was only $9.99. We also picked up Ayva’s lunchbox at TJ Maxx for $7.99. We were going to get her backpack, too, but there were so many choices that we couldn’t decide. We decided to sleep on it and go back this weekend to make our decision! That’s what I love about TJ Maxx and Marshalls. You can get everything you need in one place without having to go from store to store.
What kind of styles are your little girl into for back to school? Make sure you check out TJ Maxx & Marshalls for all of your back to school needs including clothes, accessories, backpacks and more!
