Thanks to alternaVites Kids for sponsoring this post and helping Ayva have energy for kindergarten!
My Ayva has a lot of energy. She wakes up at 6:30 AM, and can go all day without a nap. Even during the weeks this summer when she participated in dance camp for six hours each day, she’d still claim to not be sleepy at bedtime. Her former preschool teacher has assured me, however, that once kindergarten starts in a few weeks, she’s going to finally meet her match. According to the teacher, between the academic and social lessons she’ll be learning, and extracurriculars like dance, soccer, choir and Bible class, Ayva will be begging to go to sleep each night. I gotta admit, I’m looking forward to that! I do, however, want to make sure she has the energy she needs to make it through these grueling kindergarten days. Healthy meals and snacks are definitely a priority, but I’m also going to give her vitamins. alternaVites Kids is a good choice for Moms who are introducing their children to vitamins for the first time.
alternaVites Kids is a dissolvable comprehensive multivitamin and mineral that is perfect for folks who have trouble swallowing pills. We’ve been fortunate that Ayva has always had pretty good health, so at 5 years old, she’s never taken any pills at all. The quick melting alternaVites Kids works out well for her. All she has to do to take it is pour it on her tongue and wait for it to dissolve. The first time we tried it, it was a wee bit messy, so I put the vitamin on a spoon and had her take it that way. We both agreed that we preferred the spoon method, so she’ll take it that way from now on.
What else do I like about alternaVites Kids besides that fact that it’s easy to swallow?

In a nutshell, alternaVites Kids isn’t a candy pretending to be good for you like so many of the other vitamin options that are marketed to parents. Hallie Rich is the founder of alternaVites. Her family has been in the vitamin business for over 3 generations. She was inspired to create alternaVites, and alternaVites Kids because she, along with 40% of Americans, has trouble swallowing pills. Her company is committed to only using the finest raw ingredients and nutrients, gives back to charitable organizations like St. Jude’s Children’s Research, and is eco-friendly. And since the alternaVites Kids will help supplement the healthy meals I give Ayva to ensure she has all of the energy she needs for kindergarten, what’s not to love?

Do your little ones have trouble swallowing pills? Does a quick dissolving comprehensive multivitamin and mineral sound good to you? Also, is anyone else as freaked out about school starting as I am????

Thanks for all the great comments - they are perfect for any kids ages 4+, even those of us that are older than that but still kids at heart! As we loved working with Brandi and Ayva, if any of you want an in-store coupon for trial, email us at [email protected] - these can be used at any stores that accept coupons - even in Walmart when we launch there in a few weeks! Pass it on!

Powder vitamins sound genius to me! While my daughter doesn't have trouble swallowing pills per se, she's a tad bit "drammatical" and I worry about her choking (for real) while she's fake choking when taking her vitamin. I honestly think that a vitamin in powder form (especially one that tastes good) would be super helpful...for both of us. :)

@vaneesemommyworksalot:disqus Oh, I understand. I have a "drammatical" daughter, too! It definitely makes things easier!

My little one is headed to high school so I am freaking out too. I wish these vitamins were available when my daughter was younger. She has such issues swallowing pills.

Where do kids get all their energy from? My kids wake up well before I do and they're ready to go! I'm actually kinda ready for school to start.

@thienkim:disqus You know, the one thing that I've found to use up all of that energy is swimming. Even 6 hours of dance camp didn't do it!
