As the mother of an only child, I’m always looking for things that Ayva and I can do together. Of course, we love to go shopping and out to eat, but we also really enjoy doing arts & crafts, baking, and being active together. Basically, anything where we can spend time having fun with each other, we’re good. I’m never really short on ideas of things we can do, but I’m just going to keep it real, the gathering of the materials and setting up and all that is just too much for me sometimes. Like, for real. First I have to find the paintbrushes, then I have to search around for the craft paper. By the time everything is pulled together, we only have 20 minutes left before dinner or soccer or bedtime, or any of the other things that infringe on our together time. I was really excited to hear about Avery & Austin, a new #perfectplaydate subscription service started by my friends Cam and Nichole.
They’re both moms, so they get it. Whether it’s a playdate with a sibling or another child, or Mommy & Me time, folks just want to be able to get to the making! That’s the good part anyway, right? The Avery & Austin box includes everything that you need to have a playdate. There are TWO projects with all of the materials, 2 yummy snacks, and even something unique and special for mom! March was inaugural box, and it included:
- materials to decorate 2 birdhouses (including the birdhouses!)
- a birdseed ornament to hang on your trees
- 2 chewy granola bars
- a lovely handstamped bracelet provided by DesignsByMrs
Everything fit into the theme perfectly, and it was so beautifully wrapped that it felt special for both Ayva and me when it came in the mail. Here’s the thing, though. Ayva and I didn’t do an activity together! I know, right! All of that great buildup (I even posted about our planned playdate on Instagram), and our plans changed. My in-laws hosted a gathering at their house after church, and something told me to pack the Avery & Austin box. It’s a good thing I did, too! Ayva and her friend Eden were the only two girls their age at the party, and I was able to pull out the box and get them started on a #perfectplaydate instantly. How cool is that? Ayva’s on spring break next week, so we’ll make the birdseed feeder together.
I know by now you want to try Avery & Austin out for yourself. Well, I have to apologize because the April boxes have already been accounted for, but you can get on the list for May. Don’t wait. Seriously. Summer is coming and you know parents are going to be jumping on these boxes to have plenty of things for their kids to do while they’re on vacation! You can even get $15 off with the code MAMAKNOWSITALL15OFF. So, go! Check out Avery & Austin. Follow them on Twitter. Like them on Facebook. Get on the list so you don’t miss out on May’s box!
I love it! They have mastered painting for sure! Thanks Brandi!
Thank you, Cam! They had a great time!
