Whenever October rolls around, there are two things that will happen with 100% certainty. First, my family’s schedule is going to be completely packed, and there will be days that we feel like our heads are going to explode. Second, we are going to go through at least a million iterations of Halloween costumes for Ayva because…5-year-old. There’s not much I can do about the costume situation, but we’re going to master the schedule thing this year. Mainly because I’m a scaredy cat. With Terrence in San Francisco every day, and Ayva at one of her many activities, I freak out when I don’t know exactly where my family is at all times.
That’s where Life360 comes in. It’s an app that helps you keep tabs on your family’s whereabouts, and lets you communicate or check-in easily and privately. I have to say, Terrence wasn’t really a big fan of a location based app. I talked to him about it last year and he totally wasn’t convinced. One night, though, I was out with a friend whose car was having some issues. My phone was dead, and Terrence was out of the loop for quite some time. The next day HE brought up Life360 to me. Boom.
Well, my phone completely died, and I’m just now getting around to adding all of my apps back, and Life360 is back just in time for trick or treating. The app is perfect for families with teenagers, or older children who aren’t quite teens, but who are at the age when they can go out alone. It allows them to be independent, but keeps you completely in the know. You can be their virtual chaperone! What parent wouldn’t love that?
Here’s how to get started with Life360:

- That’s it!
I’ll be sharing a bunch of tips on using Life360 to make staying connected with your family over the busy holiday season easier. Make sure you download the app so that you can chat with me about it! You can always stay updated on what’s going on with Life360 on Facebook, Twitter, or their website.
