I’m sharing the top toys Chosen By Kids with you as part of a sponsored campaign with Walmart!
If I had to choose one word to describe Ayva, it would be creative. This little girl continuously amazes me with how clever and artistic she is. As her mom (and a former creative kid myself), I know how important it is to encourage that creativity and give her the tools that will allow her to stretch and explore her talents. I’m always on the lookout for toys and games that will do just that, and this year, I’m doing something a little different. I’m taking the advice of toy experts, kids just like Ayva, to help me make my Christmas selection. Look, the last thing we need is a bunch of toys that aren’t going to get played with cluttering up our house, so I’m taking tips from the peeps who really know what kids like. Other kids!
For the second year in a row, Walmart asked a group of children ages 18 months – 12 years old to play with some of the hottest toys from all of the major brands and share what their favorites were. The Walmart Chosen by Kids Top 20 Toys List is fast becoming a reputable resource of what kids like, as well as an incredibly helpful shopping list for parents! Over the next few weeks, I’m going to be testing out some of the Chosen By Kids toys, and sharing my thoughts with them on you.
If your child is like my Ayva, I’m sure you’ll be looking for toys that’ll continue to encourage them to use their imagination to create cool things. The Chosen by Kids Top 20 Toys List includes several creative / craft toys including the Spin Master Sew Cool Sewing Machine, the Moose Toys Beados Quick Dry Design Station, and the Maya Group Make Your Case Cell Phone Cover Kit. All of these toys are under $30, and are perfect for the crafty kiddo in your life. I had a chance to test out the Spin Master Sew Cool Sewing Machine, and I’d definitely recommend it for children ages 5+ who have pretty good small motor skills. Now, for younger children, although the needles are completely encased in plastic, I’d still recommend that you stay around and help them out. It takes a little focus to get the hang of sewing seams, and you can help make the learning a lot easier. And it’s really fun, too!
About the Spin Master Sew Cool Sewing Machine
The Spin Master Sew Cool Sewing Machine is different than other machines because it doesn’t use thread at all. Instead of trying to deal with a bobbin or thread a needle, your little designer can jump right into sewing seams and making cute, fashionable pieces. The machine is incredibly lightweight and won’t take up a lot of room at all. There’s no foot pedal, or extra pieces of the machine to worry about. Everything is contained in the one unit. You can pull it out of the box, add batteries (4 AA), and start sewing.
Included with the Spin Master Sew Cool Sewing Machine is fabric, patterns, buttons and other pieces of trimmings for embellishment. What I really like is that there are 3 pre-cut projects included so that Ayva can get used to the machine before she has to worry about cutting out fabric.
The other thing I really like? The price tag. The Spin Master Sew Cool Sewing Machine is only $29.99. Yup, you don’t have to break the bank to get your budding little artist a toy that they’ll love. In addition to everyday low prices, Walmart has a few more ways to help you save this holiday season. Walmart Layaway, Walmart Savings Catcher, and the Walmart Ad Match Guarantee will help ensure you get the best deals on all of your purchases.
