This year, I’m choosing to do something bold. I’ve been putting it off for awhile now, but it’s time to jump in. Find out what I’m going after in this post sponsored by LISTERINE® and Socialstars. #LISTERINE #BringOutTheBold
It’s been too long. Year after year, I make plans to do it, but it never seems to happen. Where do I start? I don’t have enough time. There’s always another excuse, always a reason that I don’t get around to it. In the meantime, with every year that passes, I’m missing out on fun. I’m sitting on the sidelines while other folks are having adventures, and you know what? I’m over it.
This is it.
This is the year that I will finally learn to swim.
That’s right. I’ve gone my entire life without ever swimming a lap.
I can’t even float.
My wanting to learn to swim this year isn’t just about the swimming, either. Obviously it’s an important skill to have, and clearly you have a much better time on vacation when you don’t have to drag yourself along the edge of the pool and stay away from the deep end. It’s more than that to me, though.
I don’t want there to be anything in life that I’m scared to do. I want to be able to live boldly and confidently, and there’s no way I can do that if my big grown behind is stuck in the kiddie pool with all of those children splashing water in my face. No, Ms. Brandi needs to be doing the breaststroke in 7 ft. with a cute bathing suit on.
This is happening, y’all.
In true Riley fashion, I made a mind map of things that need to happen in order for me to learn to swim this year. I’ll be taking lessons at the same place that Ayva goes, and I already have my swim hairstyle and bathing suit picked out. Terrence is going to keep me accountable, and my attitude is positive. I’m ready.
This is the year that I’m bringing out the bold by jumping in the pool. I know that learning to swim is going to open up more opportunities for adventure, and I’m ready for it! It’s not often that your favorite mouthwash inspires you to do something courageous, but that’s exactly what LISTERINE® is doing with their Bring Out the Bold™ campaign. I’m taking the Bold Challenge, so I can go confidently into my swim lessons as a tadpole, and leave out as a dolphin.
Or a shark. Yeah. I’m coming out as a shark.
Roar! Uh…you get what I mean! Stay tuned, y’all!
