Red Scotties from Gimbal's Fine Candies - Made in the USA

Every member of my family has a sweet tooth. We LOVE candy. The older I get, the more selective I am about the candy that I eat. I think it’s because my palate (among other things) are maturing, and I can really taste quality ingredients. Lately, it’s been kind of tough finding candy that meets my expert sweet tooth standards, but the Red Scotties from Gimbal’s Fine Candies not only met, but surpassed them. Gimbal’s Fine Candies sent me a bag of Red Scotties to try out a couple of weeks ago. Oh my goodness, y’all…I barely had enough of the licorice left to take photos because they’re so delicious! Terrence, Ayva and I devoured an entire bag (less the few I saved for this picture) in a week!

Now y’all know I have never devoted an entire post to candy, but the Red Scotties are worth it. If you like licorice, the subtle cherry of the Gimbals Candies Scotties are going to blow your mind. When I took my first bite, the flavor totally exploded in my mouth! They aren’t super sweet or overly sugary, and there’s a slight spice tone in the candy that speaks to the quality of licorice used to make the cute little doggies. Gimbals Candies did their THING with these Red Scotties!  I have to warn you, it will be hard to go back to the mass produced licorice that you get in drugstores after trying this candy.

Red Scotties on Make A Gif

The Red Scotties would make a great end of the year gift for teachers, and a yummy, not terribly sugary treat for road trips. If you’re the type to plan ahead, purchase some Red Scotties to add into back to school care packages for your kids! Gimbal’s Fine Candies is based in San Francisco (Made in the USA, baby!). All of their candies are gluten-free and nut free, and you can get them online at GimbalsCandy.com I’m going to go ahead and recommend that you get the 2 pack (two 5 lb. bags), and suggest that you pace yourself. You’ll regret it all if you eat them all in one sitting, because there won’t be more for later!

I didn’t realize I was a true licorice girl until I tasted these. The flavor is out of this world.

Ok, my dad is OBSESSED with quality licorice candy. With Father’s Day coming up, I think this would be a great addition to his gift. Getting a 2-pack is a good idea because I can give one to my husband and one to my dad. Gifts…done!

Brandi, I think you need to send your east coast buddies a bag or two (or three) just so we believe you. 😉 Just kidding, but those Scotties look delish!

I’m in! I love licorice, especially red and I’m never too far from a bag of red twists. I will definitely be checking these out and hiding them from my son!
