Everyone always talks about the pain that you experience when you’re pregnant, but there’s little said about the postpartum pain mamas experience. Everything from my hips to shoulders have ached alternately since having my son 8 months ago. It’s no surprise, though. I’m picking up a 20 pound baby, 12 pound car seat, and 15 pound stroller several times a day. Who needs a gym membership when you’re a mom? It was to the point where soreness was a constant in my life. I expected to be in pain. Then I tried out the Sunbeam® Renue® Neck Wrap, a heating pad which provides targeted heat for maximum pain, tension and muscle relief in the neck and shoulders.

I first noticed the pain when my son was 3 months or so. Before then, my husband was on paternal leave and since I was recovering from a c-section, he did all of the heavy lifting. Left on my own, and with a weakened core, I made a lot of physical mistakes those first few months. In trying to protect my abdomen, I ended up putting a lot of stress on my neck and back. Of course, that led to other issues like discomfort when I slept and headaches. I was searching desperately for a solution.

Since I breastfeed my son, I have to be careful about taking different pain medications, so I was eager to see if the Sunbeam Renue Neck Wrap would work for me. I’ve read a lot about using targeted heat to provide muscle relief.  Heat is a natural way to help alleviate muscle pain and soreness and promotes blood flow to help accelerate healing. Because I had so much pain in my neck, I had a feeling that the neck wrap would be exactly what I needed. Thankfully, I was right!

The Sunbeam Renue Neck Wrap is so much easier to use than other heating pads. This neck wrap is contoured to the neck and upper shoulders and can be adjusted with a magnetic closure. There are 4 temperature options to choose from depending on your comfort level. It’s been unseasonably cold here in Northern California, so not only did the heat soothe my pain, but it also made me feel nice and toasty, too.

My best tip for relieving pain is taking a hot shower. I have Rheumatoid Arthritis and when I get flare ups, I find that heat helps me. Also taking some Aleve is helpful to me.
