It’s one of those activities that I remember from my childhood. My cousins and I (this was before my siblings were old enough!) would sit at my great-grandmother’s dining room table and dye dozens of hard boiled eggs. Dyeing eggs, a new church outfit and big ole’ baskets stuffed with candy make for poignant memories when a child gets older.
There are all sorts of fantastic ideas for decorating Easter eggs online, but there’s something really sweet about using the same old Paas dye that I used when I was a child with my own daughter. The act of waiting for them to stain the hardboiled eggs, and then carefully transporting them with the bent wire egg holder briefly transported me back to the 80’s and a sweet family memory. It was a lovely way to spend an afternoon.
