Check out ideas for poses for your Christmas card picture in this post sponsored by Walmart Photo
It’s been a really long time since I last sent out Christmas cards.
How long?
Well, I may or may not have had kids. S
eriously, it’s been at least a decade.
This year is different, though. Obviously much has changed in all of our lives.
Because of that, I have a desire to connect even more with my loved ones.
My family always loves receiving Christmas cards, so now it’s time for us to show the same love back to our friends and family.
Honestly, one of the reasons that I haven’t sent cards in so long is because of the process.
You know what I mean.
You have to get some good family photos, then pick out the pictures you’re going to use.
After that you have to figure out where you’re going to get the cards printed, and select a design.
It can be overwhelming!
This year is about less stress, though. I’m keeping things simple.
And we’re having fun.
Take Your own family pictures at home
How did we keep things simple? Well, for starters, we took our own pictures at home.
I set the camera up on a tripod, dressed everyone up in holiday clothes we already had, and set the timer on the camera.
Because I had taken a look at Christmas card designs that were available on Walmart Photo and had a few in mind, I had a good idea of the types of shots we would need.
Taking your own family pictures at home for your Christmas card is really easy, y’all.
Even if you don’t have a DSLR camera, you can use your cell phone.
Set up some decorations, let the kids know you’re going to need them to cooperate for about 30 minutes, and you’re good to go!
Fun family Poses for your Holiday photo cards
Once you’ve decided that you’re going to take your own pictures for your holiday photo cards, you have to figure out poses.
We would be crazy not to take advantage of the opportunity to be silly this year!
Remember the great toilet paper shortage last year?
And who would have ever thought we would all be wearing masks every single day?
Consider incorporating your favorite masks into your holiday cards for the best poses for Christmas pictures.
What are some fun Christmas Card Picture ideas?
- Everyone is wearing masks
- Opening presents of essential items like toilet tissue and hand sanitizer
- The family posing near each other—but 6 feet apart
- Show all of the hobbies (like bread baking) you picked up this year
- Edit pics of each family member into a video call
- Have the kids wear clothes that are way too small to show how much they’ve grown
- Take pictures with each family member holding up a cell phone taking a selfie
- Show a still shot of what looks like the family doing a TikTok dance
where to get holiday photo cards
Once you’ve taken your pictures, it’s time to decide which ones you’re going to use in your holiday cards.
Checking out the different holiday card designs on Walmart Photo before we took our pictures was really helpful, but I still had a hard time choosing which shots to use. They were all so cute!
Fortunately, there are dozens of holiday card design templates to choose from on the Walmart Photo website.
Most of them are available for same day pickup, too, which was very important for me.
Listen, I haven’t been in the mood to send Christmas cards in years.
Since I’m in the mood now, I want my cards NOW.
And guess what? Thanks to Walmart Photo Same Day pickup, we’re all set for the holidays!
Oh, and it didn’t take long to make the cards, either.
I uploaded the pictures to Walmart Photo, and picked my card style.
I did try out a couple of styles before I made my choice. Then I placed my order.
Later that morning, I swung past Walmart and picked up our cards.
About walmart Photo Same Day
Other than photos and holiday cards, Walmart Photo also has some great gifts that are available for same day pick-up.
I’m planning to take some of our pictures and get canvas prints made to send to the grandparents.
Don’t let this holiday season stress you out.
We’ve all been through enough.
Have fun getting family pictures.
Make addressing cards into an event with hot chocolate and cookies.
And remember what makes this season so awesome in the first place!
