Make the feeding choice that’s right for YOUR baby. Learn more in this sponsored post.
Before my son was born, I thought he would be exclusively breastfed. It’s what I did with my daughter, and it worked out really well for us for 19 months. This time was different, though. I’m older. My body is different. My baby is different. We’ve discovered that supplementing with formula occasionally is helpful to us. It gives me peace of mind to know that my baby boy is receiving the nutrients that he needs to grow up to be strong and healthy.
Listen, I know what it’s like to be a new mom. Everyone you meet has opinions about what you should and should not do with your baby. Here’s the thing—you know what’s best for your child. When I realized supplementing with formula was in the cards for my baby and me, I didn’t feel any shame about it. I learned as a mom the first time around that I needed to be confident in my parenting choices. So do you. You’re doing great, Mama!
Your choice matters.
Whether you choose to breastfeed, formula feed, or do a combination of both, the fact is that it’s your choice. You can bond with a baby over a boob or a bottle. As long as your little one can look up and see your face filled with love and joy, they’ll be happy. And if anyone has something to say about your choice, you can do one of two things:
- Thank them for their opinion and let them know that you’ll continue to do what works for you.
- Ignore them.
You don’t owe anyone an explanation for a choice you’re making about your baby.
