For as long as I can remember, cereal has been a staple in my diet. Whether I’m eating it straight from the box, in a bowl with milk, or using it to make desserts more delicious, if I had to choose a food to spend the rest of my life with, it’d be cereal. More specifically, I’d choose Cheerios ™.
This cereal has a special place in my heart, y’all. I mean, I’ve always loved them, but once they started saving me from Ayva’s tantrums when she was a little toddler, it solidified my devotion to them. Relief from tantrums is the best gift you can give a mom!
Buy a Box. Give a Free Box.
Speaking of gifts, Cheerios ™ has launched the “Buy a Box. Give a Free Box.” campaign. It’s all about sharing the Cheerios ™ love with your friends and loved ones. To participate, purchase a specially marked box of Cheerios ™ exclusively at Walmart.
The boxes have a sticker with a unique code that you enter online along with your friend’s email address and they’ll get a coupon for a free box of cereal! I found out about this promotion from Social Fabric, a blogger community that I’ve been a member of for nearly 5 years. Back when Ayva was just a toddler stuffing her face with Cheerios ™, Social Fabric was a support for me. I was a single mom raising my daughter alone, and I was able to work and make money to help ends meet through this community.
I also made lots of friends in the community, and continue to do so. In fact, I decided that the best way to make new friends is to send them my favorite cereal! I redeemed my code and sent a box to Christine from I Dig Pinterest. I’m sure she’ll love them!
No Bake Peanut Butter Cheerios ™ Treats
Now that Ayva is past the tantrums phase, that doesn’t mean I’ve given up on using Cheerios ™ to get her to do what I want. Now, we’re just a bit more sophisticated with how we give them to her. Instead of placing them on the table of a high chair like we used to do back in the day, we add them to our favorite recipes.
One of the easiest recipes you can make with Cheerios ™ is peanut butter treats. It’s so simple that even a kid can make them! I like to add little things like chocolate candies, seeds, dried fruit or nuts to it, just depending on the kind of mood we’re in. We lucked out the other day and found a huge box of my favorites, Multi-Grain Cheerios ™. They’re already lightly sweetened and have a delicious nutty flavor, so I didn’t add anything else to them. Here’s how you make them:
