We Don’t Have to Do It All, Moms

I am in partnership with HealthPlan USA and they have provided me with compensation for this campaign. All thoughts and opinions expressed are my own.

I think sometimes us moms take ourselves for granted.

I know that we are often taken for granted by the people that we love. We just make this multi-tasking thing look so easy. But, more than that, Moms take on so many different tasks, and we just assume that we’ll always be able to operate at full capacity. Even if we never get a chance to rest. Even if we don’t take care of ourselves.

See what I mean? Taking ourselves for granted.

It’s just not true. Yes, we are skilled at getting things done. We’ve learned how to be two things at once, but that doesn’t mean we need to be doing that. It doesn’t mean that it’s good for our health. Over the last couple of years, I’ve discovered that I need to take my needs as seriously as I do the needs of the people around me. I have to ask for help, and call in reinforcements when necessary. Especially as it pertains to my health.

It can be hard, though. We’re so adept at taking care of others, but often don’t know where to start to get help for ourselves. I recently discovered HealthPlan USA , and my first instinct was to overlook it. It seemed to good to be true. As a mom who takes care of so many other people and struggle to get support for myself sometimes, I’m used to having to work hard to get what I need.

Health Plan USA is not health insurance, but it’s a membership program that gives discounts on health related services. They also have health advocates to help navigate the complicated medical system. I gave Health Plan USA a call for support with figuring out how to get an appointment with a new doctor. The rep had amazing information about how to get the most out of my insurance, and I felt like I finally had someone in that industry who was able to make things plan for me to understand.

Want to learn more about the HealthPlan USA membership program? Here’s what’s included:

  • Affordable $16.48/month membership fee

Moms, we can’t let being busy trump our care of ourselves. We don’t have to be martyrs. Look for help. Ask for help. Accept help. We deserve it just as much as everyone else.
