The fun is going to keep flowing this spring, no matter what time of the month it is! Learn more in this #OBelievers post as part of an o.b.® sponsored series for Socialstars™
Every single spring, without fail, I get extra gung ho about all of the fun things that my family and I are going to do together.
We’re going hiking!
We’re headed to the pool!
Festival? Street fair? Basketball game? We’ll be there!
Then my monthly cycle starts and all of those plans fall to the wayside and suddenly all I want to do is stay in the house until my period passes. It’s ridiculous really. I am a grown woman! Women have had been dealing with Aunt Flo since the beginning of time, why should her visit be the thing that stops me from living? I know. I should be ashamed of myself.
Since my family has voiced their disappointment over rescheduling plans, or canceling altogether, I have figured that I need a different plan for that time of the month. I’m tired of missing out on all of the the fun! We live in one of the most visited regions in the country, there’s always something for us to do. One day we might be in Berkeley hanging out in the park, and another day in Oakland at Jack London Square watching the boats. There’s no shortage of activities to take part in, and I’m definitely not planning to waste seven days each month in the house. Nope. Not happening.
Do you want to know the biggest thing that stops me from living? Being uncomfortable because of leaks and worrying about making a mess in my springtime outfits. I mean, when I go out in the winter, it’s likely that I’m wearing tights, and probably dark pants. The spring and summer is way different, though. My dresses, shorts, and light colored pants make me anxious whenever my cycle is on and I’m planning to be out for awhile.
So what am I going to do? I’m going to tuck the compact and discrete o.b.® Tampons in my bag because it helps stop leaks by expanding all around to fit my unique shape. The Fluid Lock® grooves that lock in leak protection make me feel more confident about all of the walking that I do in our fabulous city, no matter what I’m wearing.
Tell me I’m not alone, girlfriends. Have you let your period hold you back?
