I Pledged to Say Yes To Less Negativity & More Patience

sponsored post little remediesSay Yes To Less Negativity

A few weeks ago, Ayva was getting ready to go away for a week with my in-laws. I had a crazy migraine, was super exhausted, and had about 10 minutes to get her clothes packed, get myself dressed, and get out the door. The good thing is that Ayva was already dressed, and was out of the way picking out the toys that she was going to take in the other room. Right before I jumped in the shower, I heard a loud, “Uh oh”. Annoyed, I called out, “What happened?” Ayva replied, “I had an accident.” She had wet her pants. Now, Ayva is not prone to accidents. In fact, she’s never even wet the bed, even when she was new to being potty-trained. At 4 years old, it certainly wasn’t something I was expecting to hear from her, and that morning, there was absolutely no time for it. Instead of flipping out and being impatient, though, I stopped. I sighed and just accepted that we were going to be a little late, and it was okay.

I’m glad I took that second, too. When I walked in the living room where she had her accident, I discovered that Ayva had started packing her snacks for the trip. She had put trail mix and cookies in little bags, filled up her water bottle, and was putting everything in her lunchbox to take with her. Basically, my baby girl was trying to help me out, and in her excitement didn’t realize she needed to go to the bathroom until it was too late.  If I would have lost it and yelled at Ayva or made her feel bad for having an accident when we were running late, I’m sure that would have made her feel terrible when she was taking initiative and being a big girl.

Say Yes To Less

Working full-time, being a wife and a mom…sometimes, I get overwhelmed. As a result, I can get impatient and everyday situations, things that really aren’t that big of a deal, get blown out of proportion. Ayva’s little accident was no big deal, and by reacting in an understanding and patient way, we were able to get out of the house just a few minutes late…and with no hurt feelings.  That’s exactly the reason that I pledged to say yes to less negativity and having more patience in everyday situations with the Say Yes to Less campaign. Little Remedies® is encouraging folks to adopt the same philosophy that they have for their products. You see, Little Remedies® products have less artificial ingredients, and they strive to give children everything they need and nothing that they don’t. Love this! I'm so glad you took a minute to breath. I work hard when I have Ja to encourage her and to encourage her mom to do less hollering and more loving. Kudos to you... Love you Bran...It's great moms like you that give me all I'll need to be a great mom.

I love this!! So cute, and negativity is number one for me. When I take care of myself mentally I feel much more balanced and then go on to take care of myself physically. Stress and general business do make it easy to become negative, so I think this is a great reminder! Love!! <3

Thank you, @Patricia! That is really important to me, that Ayva knows how to handle herself in potentially challenging situations. I don't want her to be stressed out over everyday issues!

It's really great, @Janeane. I have found myself checking myself and...breathing. Patience is truly a virtue.
