turkey bacon in the microwave
Making turkey bacon in the microwave is really easy. My husband taught me how to do it!

Since meeting Terrence, I’ve learned so much about life and love.

The most important lesson he’s taught me, though, is how to make bacon in the microwave.

Yes, out of all of the things I’ve learned from Mr. Riley, this one kitchen hack has added so much joy to my life.

I wish I were kidding, but after years of messing up pans and standing over a hot stove to fry turkey bacon, learning to make it in the microwave IN LESS THAN A MINUTE has been life changing. For real.

Does Turkey Bacon in the Microwave Taste Good?

I can admit, I was skeptical at first.

I’ve never been a big microwave chef.

However, when a single mom who is used to cooking every single night moves in with a bachelor who makes every meal in the microwave, she eventually learns a few tricks or two!

The first time Terrence made turkey bacon in the microwave, I was side-eyeing him for the entire sixty seconds that the bacon was cooking.

As I heard the popping of the strips in the microwave all I could think about was how crazy my husband was.

You will need the following items to microwave turkey bacon:

  • Turkey bacon
  • Paper towel
  • Microwave safe plate

Here’s what you do:

1. Separate the strips and place them on a paper towel.

2. Place that paper towel on a microwave safe plate.

3. Microwave the bacon for 50 seconds.

4. When the microwave stops, turn the bacon and nuke for an additional 5 seconds (That’s not a typo! Your bacon only needs a few seconds more.)

Your turkey bacon will be nice and crunchy, and perfect with toast, or crumbled over salads.

You may need to play with the times a bit depending on your microwave and the type of bacon that you use, but this should get you started!

I have to admit, I always cook my bacon in the microwave. To avoid any mess, I place 2 paper towels on top of the bacon and it absorbs the mess. Just be sure not to use the cheap towels or they will stick!
I will check out this cleaner though, because other things tend to make microwave messes too!

Just about to make this for my other half’s birthday dinner but I was wondering if I could use turkey bacon instead.
It contains less sodium so is a little healthier (she’s on a diet…again!)
Keep up those awesome recipes coz I’m always looking for inspiration in the kitchen:)
