How To Make A Holiday Centerpiece

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas! Everywhere we go! Well, at least here in the Riley home. National Decorate Your Home For The Holidays Week is November 16th – 22nd, and we’re busy as Santa’s elves getting our home ready for the Christmas season. I’m not the most crafty pixie in the bunch, but something about the holidays makes me want to pull out my glue gun and make all the things! I have a few simple DIY projects in the works thanks to inspiration from Big Lots, and I’ll share them all during my room reveal next week. Until then, I wanted to share this easy holiday centerpiece that you can make in just 5 minutes!

Big Lots Making a Tablescape

The first thing you need is a tray. My husband has had this lovely wooden tray since before we were married, and I’ve been looking for a way to put in to use since we moved in together. It fits in perfectly with our country glamour holiday theme. We want sequins and burlap. Rustic glitter. Outdoor glitz. You get the picture! Next, I added textured shatterproof ornaments from Big Lots. They have a gazillion different colors and sizes for really great prices. The pack of 12 medium red bulbs I purchase and 32 gold bulbs were only $4 each. I also picked up a poinsettia wrapped in burlap, along with the sparkly reindeer I shared with you all last week. Finally, I added a candle holder that we already had, and 5 minutes later, voila! Done!

The biggest thing to keep in mind when you put together your centerpiece is to consider levels and textures. You want your centerpiece to be interesting enough to pull the entire room together. Terrence, Ayva and I have been doing a lot of decorating over the last week, and I can’t wait until you all get a chance to see our Holly Jolly home transformation!

Get some other ideas for holiday decorating from Big Lots plus a fun contest coming up) and the #BIGHoliday bloggers! So tell me, are you decorating for the holidays already? What’s your theme?

This is adorable and so easy! We always forget to decorate our coffee table, and this would be perfect.

Thank you, Amiyrah! We usually leave ours plain, too. This year…going all out!

I love this! We never had Big Lots where I grew up but I tend to always hit them up now in Texas during the holidays – I love their decor items!
