How To Get Out of a Mom Style Rut

mama knows it all

Tee-shirts and stretch pants. Dresses that are too big.  Pants that are too small.  Oh, I think y’all know what I’m talking about.  That’s right, mom clothes.  Wait, wait, wait, before all of you moms get all offended, I’m not talking about those of you with style.  You know, all of you Fashion Friday and What I Wore Wednesday ladies.  I have to give y’all props.  You’re looking good, Mama.  Real good.

This mama, however?  Not so much.
It’s not that I don’t want to look good. It’s just that, since becoming a mom, comfort has taken complete precedence over everything else when it comes to my choosing clothing. Well, comfort and convenience.  (What is this “iron” that you speak of?)  I have to be able to move.  Not just walking, mind you. I’m talking running behind a toddler, climbing up on stools (don’t ask), crawling on the floor (no really, don’t ask) type of movement. All of that is kind of difficult to do in a ballgown and stilettos.
Which is kind of how I feel when I wear jeans nowadays.
Oh yeah, you know you have gotten in a style rut when jeans are not comfortable enough for you. Thankfully, I got my hot mama style on recently with the lovely Beachcomber dress by Fresh Produce. From the color to the length to the fit, everything about this dress was right.  When I wore it, I received compliments from just about everyone I met!

That dress is so cute and looks great on you, plus it does really seem like something you could be stylin at the park in and still very comfy. I think there is a Fresh Produce store right near me in La Jolla and I've passed it a million times but never gone in…however now I might just have to!!
