Every year I count down the days until we can put Halloween to bed and jump into the BIG holidays. The energy around Thanksgiving and Christmas is just different, and I absolutely love it. The lights, the decorations, and the big old smiles that people seem to have all around just make me feel so good. One of my favorite things to do during this time of the year is head to the mall and walk around, taking in the lights and decorations, and being a part of the festive holiday hustle and bustle. Since Ayva was out of school last Friday, we went to Stoneridge Mall in Pleasanton to get into the holiday mood. Thanks to Stoneridge Mall for sponsoring this post!
Y’all, spending the day at the mall as such a good idea! Stoneridge Mall was all decked out for the holidays, and my spirits were lifted as we walked around taking it all in. All of our favorite stores had tons of sparkles and glitter, both on the racks and helping to add some shine to their decor. Not only that, but Ayva got to have a chat with Santa!
Santa at Stoneridge Mall
Stoneridge Mall has a lot going on this holiday season. Right now the line to see Santa is basically non-existent. The friendly elves working the photo area encouraged me to let you all know that you can expect a very short wait if you come in the next couple of weeks or so to give the Big Guy your Christmas list. After that, you can still save time by making an appointment to see Santa. There are a quite a few special Santa event, too.
- November 20 – Pet Photo Night with Santa
- December 3 – Breakfast with Santa. Free for Kidgit members.
- December 4 – Bring your child with special needs for a more subdued and welcoming environment.

On Thanksgiving Day, the schedule changes, and Stoneridge Mall will be open from 6 pm – 1 am on Thanksgiving, 6 am – 10 pm on Black Friday, and will have special holiday hours up through Christmas. After walking through the mall a couple of times and picking up a few goodies for ourselves, Ayva and I enjoyed a delicious lunch at The Cheesecake Factory before heading home. We spent five hours at the mall, and enjoyed each and every single one of them. Now we’re ready for the holidays. Bring it on!
