Grilled cheese sandwiches have to be one of the greatest recipes ever made in life.
Buttered bread and gooey cheese? Does it get any better than that?
When it comes to grilled cheese sandwiches, I’m an O.G. Been there, done that, will probably do it again tomorrow.
As I get older, though, I’ve been looking for different ways to add some oomph to our family’s lunch time staple.
Here’s the thing, though. I don’t ever want to mess with the taste.
I like to keep it simple when it comes to grilled cheese sandwiches.
Instead, I decided to try rolling the sandwiches up to make eating them more fun and easier to eat. People love finger food, right?
The first thing I did is start with Frigo® Cheese Heads® Swirls cheese. I actually purchased the variety pack that includes the string cheese that Ayva loves as well.
The Swirls variety is made of a mixture of mozzarella and cheddar. They’re perfect for quick, kid-friendly recipes like these grilled cheese roll ups.
How To Make Grilled Cheese Rollups
Cut the crust off of 4 pieces of bread (save the crusts for other recipes or easy croutons) and flatten them with a rolling pin.
Put a cheese stick on each slice of flattened bread. Roll it up.
Add butter to a hot pan. Then you’ll grill the roll ups until they are brown and crispy on the outside. The cheese should be melted on the inside.
In about 10 minutes total, you’ll had an all new grilled cheese experience.
Same taste, different shape, and they are just perfect!
This recipe is great for families with children who are tired of having the same old thing for lunch, but they aren’t up for trying new things.
These roll ups are perfect for on the go so you could make them on afternoons or evenings when you don’t have time to sit and wait for your little one to finish eating.
You can just grab the roll ups and head out the door!
