This summer, Ayva had the time of her life at summer camp. I kind of figured she would. I mean, the camp she went to, Go Girls! Camp, was all about everything that she loves—singing, dancing, reading, being imaginative, and making memories with friends. In fact, when I picked Ayva up on the first day, she declared that when she grows up she wants to be a Go Girls! teacher. I’d say things went pretty well!

Camp just got better after the first day. The girls learned the Go Girls! anthem, and it became my favorite summer jam! The best part about sending Ayva off to camp each day is that I was confident that the values of the organization matched my own, and that they were picking up where Terrence and I left off each day in teaching Ayva to be a more caring and compassionate human being.

You know, any camp can take kids swimming or do arts and crafts. Go Girls! Camp recognizes the influence they have on our daughters, and takes the opportunity to use their time together to make a deeper, longer lasting, impact. They really are starting a Compassion Revolution.

Go Girls! Camp is extending the summer fun into December with Winter Break Camps! Girls who are currently enrolled in grades K-5th are welcome to enroll.  For more information or to register, head over to the Go Girls! website.

Where: North Oakland Community Charter School

Who: Girls currently enrolled in K – 5th grade

When: December 21, 22, 23, 28, 29 & 30

Time: 9:00 a.m.- 4:00 p.m.

Cost: $85 per session/$75 per session for additional siblings

10% off for committing to 3 or more sessions

$459 when you register for all 6 days!

*Aftercare available from 4:00pm-6:00pm for $15 per hour per girl
