Remember last week when I talked about how my football team always wins? Yeah, I might have jinxed them because on Sunday afternoon, even though they played well, it wasn’t good enough to thwart off their opponent. Gosh, football isn’t as fun when your team doesn’t win.
You know what’s always fun, though? Football food. Tailgating at home. Spending time with family eating food that allows you to cheer and get your grub on at the same time. Even if my team never wins another game (HYPOTHETICALLY!!!!) at least I can always count on having something delicious to eat on game day.
Figuring out what to eat can be a game in itself. While our family has some tried and true tailgating yummables (Ayva’s word!), it’s always fun to try something different. I’m always on the lookout for snacks that will appeal to my foodie family, and truth be told, that will impress my mother-in-law. She’s a fantastic hostess who knows what a crowd likes, so if she likes what I make, I know I’m winning. Unlike my team last week. Sigh.
One of the tricks I can give you for finding tasty recipes is checking out the websites of your favorite food brands. For instance, every week, Farm Rich is sharing serious sports snacks and game day food inspiration every week. Head over to www.farmrich.com/gameday for lots of ideas.
