When it comes to staying in shape I like to keep it simple. I’m not a runner, don’t lift weights, and haven’t had a gym membership in about ten years. Instead, my fit body method is pretty straightforward. All I have to do is eat good food, minimize stress, and get moving every once in awhile. I know, it seems too easy to work, right? Well, you’d be surprised at how a little planning and a lot of intention has helped me to keep up with my health goals and new year resolutions.
Surprisingly, the food and the stress haven’t been my biggest issues over the years when it comes to staying in shape. I’ve learned not to bring a bunch of unhealthy snacks in the house because they WILL get eaten, and I know how to shut things down when I feel stress coming on. The “get moving every once in awhile” part is what has tripped me up in the past. When I lived in Philadelphia I never really had the right clothes for working out. Because I worked so much, my clothing budget would be spent on professional clothes, and for years I didn’t even own a pair of sneakers! Not having the appropriate clothes kept me stagnant for a long time, and was my excuse for not being active.
After I relocated to California and started working from home, all of that changed. I updated my entire wardrobe. Yoga pants and tank tops are comfortable for sitting at the computer all day, but it also makes it easy to hop up and take a brisk walk around the neighborhood on my lunch break, or dance around our house to a few Beyoncé songs to get my blood pumping. The best part? After my workout, I can finish working, and then pick Ayva up from school in the same outfit because of the quality of the Target® C9 collection clothes that I purchased.
I recently went back to Target® to add a few new pieces to my stay-fit collection. The first thing I picked out were the Target® C9 by Champion® Women’s Seamed Pant. I like to be comfortable without looking sloppy, and the seam in these pants give them a really sleek look. I also picked up the Target® C9 by Champion® Women’s Training Tank because it’s a little longer, and covers up my booty. While I don’t care if my butt is covered or not (especially in the Seamed Pant because it looks so good in them!), it just feels like it’s more appropriate when I go pick Ayva up from school. The sweet little razorback is sassy enough!
Now, I don’t have any excuses for not staying fit. I have great workout gear that’s easy to move in, Dr. Google, my nutritionist with tons of recipes for good food, and an awesome family that helps keep the stress low. I’m committed to being healthy and to doing it in a way that’s nice and comfortable. Just like my fabulous new pants!
You are looking good girl!!! Keep it up!
Thanks, Kristin! I’m working on it!
