I’ll never forget the lesson I learned about not quitting. It was the summer in between my 9th and 10th grade years in high school, and I was participating in a science program at a college a couple of hours away from my home. A big, blow out argument happened between 2 groups of girls, and, although I wasn’t in it, I didn’t like it and I was ready to go home. I called my mom to come and get me and she said no. She told me that if I started quitting things as soon as they got difficult when I was young, I’d be doing it for the rest of my life. That was nearly 20 years ago, and those words have stuck with me every since.
