Broiled Pears With Flax Seed

Living in a place where the farmers market operates year round means I have the luxury of having seasonal fruits and vegetables available for my family at any time. Not only that, but the fresh produce is incredibly inexpensive! Because of that, I’m able to give different foods that I might not normally try a chance, or create new recipes without having to worry about wasting too much money if the dish doesn’t come out as planned. This month, I had the pleasure of being a Carrington Farms All Good April Ambassador. They sent me a few of their awesome products to try out, and I paired them with my farmers market finds to create delicious, healthy dishes!

Carrington Farms is all about healthy foods for a healthy soul. Their products include flax seeds, chia seeds, and coconut oil. I consider myself a bit of a coconut connoisseur, so right away when I received my All Good April package, I tore into it to check the Organic Extra-Virgin Olive Oil out. Thick and luxurious, I immediately placed half of it in a plastic container to put in my beauty cabinet for Ayva and my hair. I couldn’t just leave ALL of that goodness in the kitchen!

The next thing I had to do after my beauty needs were taken care of, was to test out my Carrington Farms products on some delicious fruit. Pears are in season, and I just bought a big bag of them at the farmers market, so it made sense to match them up with the coconut oil and flax seed to make a super simple treat.

All I did was cut up pears, coat them with the Carrington Farms Coconut Oil and add a tiny bit of brown sugar. I broiled them for about 4 minutes (be careful, the oil will burn!), and then topped the pears with some earth flax seeds. Delish and yummy! Next time, I’ll whip up some cream to have on the side!

I'm all for farmer's market fare, and then adding MORE stuff to make it tastier and healthier! I'm in! I'll end up picking up pears at our next Farmers Market visit. Ours are just opening this month!

Oh my word, this looks absolutely delicious. I love anything sprinkled with flax seeds and the fact that the pears are broiled just makes me smile. Going to try this over the weekend!
