Learn how to make this refreshing Berry Infused Lemonade!
The 4th of July is one of those holidays that has always been super relaxed in my family. We rarely venture out since we know most places are going to be crowded, so it’s a good day to be lazy and hang out around the house.
Don’t get me wrong. That doesn’t mean we don’t turn up.
Oh, the Riley family turns up even when we’re chilling at the crib with the in-laws! Hot dogs! Watermelon! Lemonade! Don’t let the chill vibe fool you. We still know how to have a good time!
I had a lot of fun last summer trying out new drink recipes with Sweet’N Low, so with July 4th fast approaching and another partnership with the zero calorie sweetener, my family is already expecting big things.
I’ve been volunteered to make one of my “fancy drinks” at the family cookout that Terrence and I are hosting at our place, and I’m totally feeling up for the challenge.
I’m just going to show up, show out, and show them what I’m working with.
So, what am I working with? Lemonade. But of course, right? Isn’t lemonade America’s drink?
This isn’t just any ole lemonade, though. It’s Berry Infused Lemonade.
Besides the yummy sun, summer also brings the most delicious berries with it. It’d be a shame to let them go to waste, especially since the patriotic colors are perfect for the holidays.
Also, everyone know that berries take everything up a notch and give recipes a bit of je ne sais quoi. This Berry Infused Lemonade is definitely fancy enough to impress the in-laws perfect for picnics and other summer get togethers.
The thing I like the most about it is that the berries, because they are infused, don’t overpower the lemonade. This drink is slightly sweet thanks to Sweet’N Low and absolutely delicious.
Berry Infused Lemonade
Ingredients
4 packets Sweet’N Low
Raspberries
Strawberries (you can use any combination of berries that you’d like)
4 cups of water
7 large lemons
ice
optional mint for garnish
What To Do:
Make the lemonade base by squeezing the juice of the 7 lemons and mixing with 4 cups of water in a pitcher. Add 5 packets of Sweet’N Low. Mix thoroughly.
Slice 1 cup of berries and add to the lemonade. Place in the refrigerator and let the berries infuse the lemonade for at least an hour and up to overnight.
Remove the berries from the lemonade. Save them to eat later. They’re so good!
Pour the lemonade in a glass and garnish with fresh berries and mint.
