Summer is just around the corner, and y’all know what time it is: bathing suit season!
Fortunately for me, bathing suit shopping isn’t horrible. In fact, there’s no pressure at all for two reasons.
First, I’m finally in love with my body. I honor it and am grateful for the way I’m able to navigate life in it, and I like the way this mom body looks in a suit.
Second, bathing suits are so easy to get addicted to!
There are so many adorable designs, that the only challenge I have with shopping for swimsuits is stopping myself from buying too many!
First of all, let’s talk about body love. When you have a small chest (like I do), it can be difficult to find adoration for your body.
Our society has sent the message for centuries that big breasts are the most desirable physical quality in a woman.
That’s just not true.
Every body is beautiful.
So, before we get into these bathing suits for small chests, let’s take a moment to appreciate and love our bodies just the way they are.
How about a quick body love affirmation? Repeat after me:
I am beautiful and worthy and deserve to feel confident in a bathing suit, or anything I wear.
Tips for choosing a bathing suit when you have a small chest
My priority when I’m choosing a bathing suit that will suit my small chest needs is comfort. I don’t care about anything else but being able to run around on the beach, or splash around in the pool without my itty bitties making an appearance!
Tugging and pulling at straps does not sound like a good time for me, so the suit needs to fit the body I have.
I only buy bathing suits that fit the size I am at the time when I purchase them.
Here are some tips to keep in mind when shopping for a cute bathing suit for small chests:
- Ruffles and frills can create the illusion of a bigger chest if you’re interested in that. Suits with ruffles along the neckline or across the chest will help.
- Removable padding allows you to customize the level of support in the top of your bathing suit or bikini.
- Don’t be afraid to go for bright and bold prints and patterns.
- If you don’t want to accentuate your small chest, look for swimsuits with details on the bottom, such as ruching or ties. This will draw attention to your bottom half.
The most important thing is to find a swimsuit that makes you feel confident and comfortable. Try on different styles and colors until you find the one that’s right for you.
