mama knows it all, business cards
The front and back of my super fabulous moo cards!

Aaah, the end of summer. Now is the time when we try to squeeze in the last of our fun-filled days in order to prepare ourselves for the more schedule driven fall. We’re focused on getting the kids back to school, buying new backpacks and sharpening lots of pencils…oh yeah, it’s definitely that time. Something about school starting back up for the kids always gets me into “back to business” mode. It doesn’t matter if I work all summer long, when school gets back in session, I get motivated and my energy is renewed.

Since I left my job of 6 years and am moving into a new career this back to school season, I am even more motivated to get back to business! There are several blogging/social media goals that I am working on achieving, and I’ve been putting together a list of al of the things I’ll need to do and have to help me achieve those goals. One of the “tools” that was important to have was business cards. As they say, “It’s not what you know, it’s who you know”. Networking is a big part of being successful, so I’m really glad that I was able to get beautiful business cards from moo.com.

This is my third set of cards since starting my blog 2 1/2 years ago. The first set was made for me on the computer by one of my friends right before I attended Bloggy Boot Camp, my very first blogging conference. I was so proud of those cards with their tear away edges! I hardly had any information on them, and was wondering if I should add some sort of graphic to take away from all of the white space! With my new moo business cards, I’ve come a long way from that first set!

Here’s what makes the moo cards stand out to me:

The Paper
These cards are printed on thick premium paper stock that feel like success. I’m not joking! These cards are so luxurious!  It took me a second to realize that I wasn’t holding 2 or 3 cards, that’s just how thick one card is.

The Finish
There’s a light, non-reflective coating on the cards, which pretty much ensures that if your card happens to get a little wet, the ink won’t run. It also makes them look really chic…like you’re handing out a little piece of art!

The Print Quality
The most impressive thing about the cards, though, was the brightness of the photograph that I used. Ayva (yes, my 3 year old!) took this picture, and I thought she captured a very authentic me. Perfect for bloggers and brands who like to judge a book by its cover!

Okay, so I’ve shared how I’m getting back in business mode, now I want to hear from you. What kind of tools do you use to help you in achieving your career goals? Do you have business cards? Any networking tips that you can share? If you are in need of some inspiration, check out moo on Facebook or Twitter. If you’d like to win your very own set of moo cards, stay tuned! I’ll be giving a set away at the Shades of Social Media twitter chat later this week. Follow us on Facebook to stay updated!

Disclosure: I received a complimentary set of Moo cards to facilitate this review. All opinions are my own.
