Ayva is 7.
SEVEN.
Everyone says that seven is one of the breakthrough ages. So much changes this year. She goes from being a little girl to a big girl, and she’s closer to being a tween than she is to being a baby.
I had a brief intro to puberty conversation with Ayva the other day, just to tell her that it’s coming…at some point, and that we’ll talk more about it later. I don’t know if that’s the right thing to do, if it’s too early, or if I’m too late, or what. I’ve never had a 7-year-old before. I don’t know what I’m supposed to be doing.
The last year has been one of big accomplishments for Ayva. She joined a local choir and we’re discovering that she has a really beautiful voice. She started doing gymnastics, and while we don’t think she’ll ever make it to the Olympics, she sure seems to enjoy doing cartwheeels all over the place.
She’s a great reader who loves books about fairies, Mad Libs, and Junie B. Jones.
Ayva is caring and compassionate, and not nearly as sensitive as I was when I was her age. She’s definitely more understanding and forgiving than me, and even though I’m the mama, I’m absolutely learning so much about how to treat people from her example.
Outrageously extroverted, Ayva loves a good party. We are planning a party for her a little closer to the summer, but aren’t quite sure what it’ll be, yet, because she wants to invite all of her classmates, friends from church, and all of the other folks she’s picked up along the way. I love her outgoing spirit.

My baby is 7.
Happy Birthday, Ayva Grace!
Awww, 7 is a magical age-my little one is 7 and she is just so full of life and personality. My motto is it’s never to late or to early when you feel like they are ready then its time to talk. Its just conversation that you need to have especially having a daughter, age appropiate of course but “things” are coming thats for sure its just good to let her know that its all normal. Happy Birthday to your girl!!
