I am a PBS KIDS Ambassador and received a NATURE CAT / WILD KRATTS pack and screeners to aid in this post.

My most favorite part of this time of the year, besides delicious food and the chance to spend quality time with my family, is the sheer volume of amazing television. I mean, am I right? From our favorite holiday movies to special Christmas episodes of the television shows that we love, it’s a nonstop opportunity to be entertained!

This year is no different. Our friends at PBS KIDS gave us an early gift by giving us a chance to check out WILD KRATTS holiday special, “Creature Christmas” and the premiere of NATURE CAT. From PBS KIDS,

On November 25th, PBS is premiering the first hour-long WILD KRATTS holiday special, “Creature Christmas.” In this seasonal adventure, the Kratts take a break from their fearless questing for creatures to celebrate Christmas. But when they receive an alert that their favorite critters are disappearing around the globe, their holiday celebration quickly turns into a rescue mission.

Then, following the debut of “Creature Christmas,” viewers will be introduced to a brand-new action-adventure series, NATURE CAT. The show stars an ordinary housecat named Fred who becomes his alter-ego, “Nature Cat,” – backyard nature explorer – when his family leaves for the day.

Before we checked Fred and the Kratts out, I took Ayva outside for a quick activity inspired by the shows. I took her on an adventure around our neighborhood and asked her to observe her surroundings and see what she discovered. She decided to collect flowers and leaves. I had her separate them into different categories, and count them all up. She was surprised to find that she found less flowers than leaves, and we talked about why she thought that was the case. Just like WILD KRATTS and NATURE CAT, it’s easy to encourage our children to be adventurous and think about the world around us, even where we live!

Check out the WILD KRATTS “Creature Christmas” holiday special, and the premiere of NATURE CAT on Wednesday, November 25th on PBS KIDS. You can get a sneak peek of the full episode of NATURE CAT now, though!
