Most of the folks I know have a love / hate relationship with social media. We love it because it keeps us informed and connected. We hate it because it keeps us informed and connected. And, is it just me, or are there more racists and sexist pigs in the world now than ever before? I mean, seriously! Since the election last year, I’ve learned that I need to protect my social space. I work online and I need to be on these platforms. Emotionally, I can’t handle some of the darkness of the web. The best way that I’ve found to keep social media good for me is to completely immerse myself in the world of mamas and their babies.
Oh, y’all—Instagram can be such a sweet place if you just follow the right people! My favorite local pizza shop. My favorite local donut shop. Pizza and donut shops from around the country. Artists. Photographers. Poets. And my favorite—mamas and their little babies.
It starts when the mama shares the first pic of her blooming belly with the always exciting pregnancy announcement. From there we get to follow her life until the moment we’ve all been waiting for—baby’s first picture! As if it couldn’t get any better, then mama starts the period of oversharing that lasts for about a year. The breastfeeding pics, baby’s first bath, first smile, and videos of outrageously cute giggles. There’s literally no reason why you aren’t following at least a few mamas and their babies!
Not sure where to start? I’m willing to share a few of my favorites, because they’re just too good to keep to myself! Oh, and a hint? Watch their Instagram Stories, too. There’s usually a ton of baby deliciousness in those!

Today kicks off #WorldBreastfeedingWeek all in support of those who choose to breastfeed their babes. Breastfeeding works for us and I firmly believe that #FedIsBest 👍🏾❤️ My 18 pounder is constantly nursing which can be tricky with another kiddo and work, and it has not been easy. Hunter refused to nurse for long in the beginning, only getting foremilk (low calories) & not much hindmilk (high calories) and he was losing weight. That coupled with sore cracking nipples the first couple months were ROUGH. Finally a great lactation consultant we got on track and luckily haven’t had any problems since. I love the closeness that comes from nursing, he stares into my eyes without a care in the world ❤️ Throughout the week I’ll continue sharing my journey, tips, my favorite products & more! #WBW2017
