{Saturday Sights} Golden Tee Golfland in Castro Valley

It was a beautiful day today. The temperature was nearly 70 and the sun was shining brightly. After a long week of working inside the house, I couldn't wait to do something outside with Terrence and Ayva. Of course, Ayva and I got up and out early (hello, Panera and Michael's), but we didn't want to spend the day in and out of stores shopping like we normally do. We headed home to pick up our Papa Bear, and  to research where we play putt-putt golf in Oakland. We found a place that looked … [Read more...]

Lunch at Rustic – Francis Ford Coppola Winery

Rustic at Francis Ford Coppola Winery

This weekend, Terrence and I took a little jaunt down to Sonoma for a quick rendezvous. We were engaged last year the eve before Valentine's Day, so we were also celebrating an anniversary of sorts. One thing I love (among many) that I love about my husband is that he really takes holidays seriously! He gives flowers, cards, and gifts, and he really goes out of his way to make them feel special. When one of the discount sites that he follows sent an email for a reduced price stay at an inn in … [Read more...]

Visiting the Hollywood Wax Museum #waxfan

Visiting the Hollywood Wax Museum

What's the first thing that you think about when you think of Hollywood? Celebrities, right? Well, believe it or not, celebrities don't take to kindly to tourists groping them and sticking a camera in their face wherever they go. Fortunately for them, the Hollywood Wax Museum exists! Earlier this month, Terrence, Ayva and I traveled to Hollywood for a mini family vacation. In addition to Los Angeles must visits like The Grove and Rodeo Drive, we also visited the Hollywood Wax Museum to get close … [Read more...]

{Saturday Sights} Christmas at DisneyLand

We are so blessed to have been able to take a few days off earlier this week to take Ayva to DisneyLand. This little girl, 4 years old, started at 8:30 AM, and didn't stop until she went to sleep at 8:30 PM. She walked 5 miles with no complaining, met most of her favorite Disney princesses, and had the time of her life. Ayva's energy and excitement definitely inspired Terrence and me to keep up with her, and the amazing Christmas decorations, and outrageous Christmas parade put all of us in the … [Read more...]

'Tis the season, y'all. Thanksgiving is just a few short weeks away, then there's Christmas, and before you know it, it'll be the new year. It's about to get ca-razy! So, guess what Terrence, Ayva and I are going to do? We're headed out of town for some family fun. Yup, when things get chaotic, we hit the road. We're headed down to Southern California for a little sun and entertainment in a few weeks. We've been making a list of the things to do in Hollywood and the surrounding areas. From Field to Restaurant #McDTour

McDonald's produce, Taylor Farms, Mama Knows It All

*I participated in a campaign on behalf of Mom Central Consulting for McDonald's. I attended an event to facilitate my review and received a promotional item as a thank you for participating. Now I don't know about y'all, but every once in awhile, I'm just too tired to cook. On days like that, we might eat leftovers or sandwiches, but occasionally we'll head to a fast food restaurant to pick something up. I'll admit it. I can't do it all, and on days when that feels particularly true, I might … [Read more...]

{Saturday Sights} Avila Valley Barn in San Luis Obispo

Avila Valley Barn

If you're ever on the Central California Coast, check out Avila Valley Barn. Terrence and I planned every aspect of our wedding as partners. When it came to the honeymoon, though, he wanted to surprise me, and planned everything without any nagging input at all from me. Oh my goodness, y'all! It was more than I could have ever expected! We went to Avila Beach which is located on the Central Coast of California, and stayed at the Avila Beach Inn. Our room had a fireplace in it, a jacuzzi on the … [Read more...]

Disney On The Road – San Francisco #DisneyOnTheRoad #DisneySMMoms

There's something incredibly powerful about being in a room filled with passionate, creative women. All of my insecurities are diminished as I see myself reflected in my peers, and my energy tank is filled up, and I have the push I need to keep moving forward towards my dreams and goals. I had the chance to refuel a couple of weeks ago at the Disney On The Road mini-conference in Berkeley.Modeled after the amazing Disney Social Media Moms Celebration, Disney on the Road is the perfect complement … [Read more...]

{Saturday Sights} Unexpected Zoo

This Monday, Ayva, Terrence, my soon to be Mother In Law, and I went to the San Francisco Zoo. We were invited as guests of Red Rover, a new app that will help parents in the Bay Area find things to do with their children. They were sponsors of Hullabazoo, an event that made our trip to the zoo quite unique! I'll share more about Red Rover soon, but I wanted to share some unexpected photos from our visit to the San Francisco Zoo. Check out these really cool puppets from Giant Puppets Save the … [Read more...]
