I'll be the first person to admit that I don't love football. Even as a cheerleader in college, I found the game to be a tad bit boring and lacking continuity. I mean, sure, there's a burst of excitement for like, thirty seconds, and then it just...stops. We wait while the refs measure yards, wait while the team takes a time out, and then we wait during commercials! Anyway, none of my feelings about the game of football matter right now because I live in the San Francisco Bay Area, and OUR TEAM … [Read more...]
The 49ers Are Playing, And Other Things You Need To Know About the Super Bowl
California Love
Three months ago, life was a blur. Seriously. It's crazy how time flies. It's true that the more fun you're having, the faster it goes. Apparently, I've been in California for 3 months already. Yup, 3 months, yesterday. Life has changed so much since I've moved here. I'm surprised at how comfortable I feel already. A big part of that definitely has to do with Terrence, his family, and our friends at church. The other thing is that California is so different than Philly. So, so, sooooo … [Read more...]
{Saturday Sights} The Opening of the 8000th Walgreens
Me on the Walgreens red carpet at the opening of the 8000th store! This year continues to be full of new and interesting experiences. The most recent experience happened just this weekend. I traveled to Los Angeles with my team from Collective Bias to support and celebrate Walgreens as they opened their 8000th store. This store, located at the iconic Hollywood intersection, Sunset & Vine, is absolutely NOT just a drugstore. It features a Look Boutique with carefully selected high-end cosmetics, … [Read more...]
{Saturday Sights} Treasure Island, California
Today was such a lovely day in the Bay Area, and I was fortunate to be invited out to a group outing to celebrate my friend Ann's birthday. She wanted to take us all to a flea market on Treasure Island a few miles outsides of San Francisco to peruse the goods, and partake in the delicious food truck fare. The weather was gorgeous, the company was great, and the food was everything I hoped it would be! Here are my sights from the day. Unfortunately I ate my garlic noodles before taking any … [Read more...]
{Saturday Sights} Tilden Park – Berkeley, CA
It seems like every since I moved to California a few weeks ago, either T or I have had something work related to do on the weekend. Today was the first Saturday since Ayva and I have been here that neither one of us had anywhere that we had to be. It was nice to drag him out of bed at the crack of dawn have him join Ayva and me on our Saturday morning shopping trip this morning. We were able to get our grocery shopping for the week out of the way before lunch, so after a brief peanut butter … [Read more...]
Creating A Football Tradition
When I moved to California from Philadelphia a few weeks ago, my boyfriend greeted me with a lovely welcoming gift...a San Francisco 49ers tee. The line was drawn, and it became official...I'm now a 49ers fan. Coming from the city that famously boo'ed Santa Claus at an Eagles game, there's no way I could have lived in the City of Brotherly Love if I didn't eat, sleep and bleed green. Rooting for the Eagles was just as much a requirement of living in Philadelphia as eating cheesesteaks and … [Read more...]
