There are very few appliances that could make me jump up and down, clap my hands, and squeal. The Dyson DC65 Vacuum that I got from Best Buy made me do all that and more. What’s the more part? Well, I’ve vacuumed just about every single day since getting it! Until you’ve used a Dyson, you haven’t vacuumed! Before I tell you more about how the DC65 works for me, let me give you some background on my recent vacuum situation. When I moved to California almost 2 years ago to be with Terrence, I gave up a lot of my household items. I asked him if he had a vacuum, and he assured me that he did. Well, when I got here, the vacuum was some little dinky thing that took 20 minutes to clean a rug! It had no suction, and was just basically making noise. My husband loved that thing!
Until we got the Dyson DC65.
Now, finally, he understands what I’m talking about when I was complaining that our old vacuum wasn’t doing it’s job. That poor thing didn’t stand a chance against the Dyson (the vacuum, not my amazing husband!). Terrence threw that old noise-maker in the trash on the day the new vacuum arrived.
Dyson DC65 Features
Now that you know the backstory, let me tell you about this fabulous piece of technology. Did you know that 75% of homes have a combination of carpet and hard floors? That’s true for just about every home I’ve been in, so it’s important to me to have a vacuum that can clean both. The Dyson DC65, available for purchase at Best Buy.com since January 26th, and in Best Buy stores since February 1st, can totally do that, and it can do it better than any other vacuum. Here are some of the features that you must know about:
-I think it’s fair to say that powerful suction is an absolute must for a vacuum. The DC65 is definitely superior to other vacuums in that area with 180AW of suction. It’s 2x the suction of other vacuums! Add that with the fact that the brush bar power is increased by 25%, and we’re talking about some real power! In fact, from my experience, if you have a smaller, lightweight rug (like in your child’s room), make sure it’s anchored down by something heavy before you vacuum. Trust me on this. I know.
-We have a lot of windows in our apartment, and we live in a fairly dated building. It can get pretty dusty in here. Fortunately, the Dyson DC65’s remodeled airflows actually help to remove more dust, dirt and allergens.
-Getting the dirt that we can’t see from deep below the carpet is so much easier now, because of the new configuration of bristles on the vacuum. They dig deeper in the carpet, and it’s easy to see the difference. Ayva told me, “Mom! It looks like I have a new floor!” And yes. It did. I’m going to show you what a week’s worth of vacuuming looks like. Keep in mind there are only 2 adults and 1 preschooler living in our home. I’m embarrassed. But also impressed:
-It’s nice to look at. Oh, y’all. This is an attractive vacuum. It features the famous Dyson ball, and is sleek and easy to store because of the size. If that weren’t enough, it comes in three great colors depending on the variant: Platinum (MF), Purple (AN) and Fuchsia (ANC).
-If you already have a Dyson DC41, you can rest assured that the DC65 has the same features that you love like the self adjusting baseplate, long-reach telescopic wand, closer edge pick up, and hygienic bin emptying. It’s a Dyson, so of course it’s built to last 10 years.
You can get the Dyson DC65 at Best Buy for $499 (for Multi-Floor), $599 (for Animal): comes w/ TFT and dusting brush, or $649 (for Animal Complete): comes with extra tools and Zorb (plus TFT and dusting brush).
