Casual Wife Style With Vionic Flats

Casual Wife Style

Back in the day, I used to KILL some high heels. I mean, it could be the middle of the week, I wouldn’t have anywhere important to be, and I’d be walking around with some sky high stilettos on. Nowadays, I’m a little older, a lot wiser, and Mama has a bad back! The very thought of putting on heels makes my feet hurt! Okay, I’m exaggerating. It’s not quite that bad, but still, I’m not really a high heel gal anymore. Funny thing is, I’m not really a flats gal, either. Yeah, I know. Weird. That’s why when the folks at Vionic invited me to try out their Olivia Leather Flats, I agreed because being a not high heel/not flat woman makes it hard to find shoes.

Vionic with Orthaheel Technology makes shoes that are comfortable and stylish, and just perfect for women with knee, back or hip problems. Earlier this year, I had several episodes of my back completely giving out on me. Since then, I’ve been very aware of the support that my shoes give me. The Vionic Olivia Leather Flat feels like walking on air. Solid, strong, supported air. Every inch of the shoe has been carefully designed to provide comfort. When I put my foot in the shoe for the first time, I was surprised at how soft the interior felt. It took a little bit of walking around in them for my feet to get used to the extra support (I really believe that I was overcompensating before to make up for shoes that weren’t supportive), but once I was acclimated to them, they felt great.

Now, just because I’m wearing flat shoes doesn’t mean that I don’t want to look cute. I am a newlywed, you know! Styling the Olivia flat wasn’t difficult at all because the shoe already has a lot going for it. I mean, metallic and animal print…hello! The thing with flats, though, is that sometimes folks think you have to play it safe style-wise. Not true! Why should the girls with the heels get to have all of the fun! Just look at how I styled the Olivia flat. I mixed patterns and textures, paired them with skinny jeans, and added a slouchy scarf and sweater for warmth and an extra dose of flavor. I think this look is perfect for a movie date with hubby, or a day of shopping in the city.

How would you style the metallic Vionic Olivia Leather Flat? If you like this look, I’d love for you to pin it! If you like the shoe, you can find it at Zappos, or on Vionic’s site!

I would style those shoes with some dark blue denim skinny ankle jeans, an olive green top and gold hoop earrings… although I think I have the ones you have up above LOL I’d have to wait until the spring time to wear it though cause the winter weather has finally hit CT and it brought along some snow too :/

Love those flats…actually the whole outfit. Since flats are my thing (like pretty much all I wear) having great support for my back, shoulders and ankles are a must. Good know that there are some cute, supportive flats out there!
